Technologically behind here...
First off, have you found having a PDA on the wards to be absolutely necessary? My school says we need to get them, but some third years have told me you don't really need one...
Have you needed internet access on your PDA for wards-related business? The data plans seem expensive, especially with verizon, the service provider I use (if I were to get a cell phone/PDA combo.) Also, I'm guessing I could use the hospital computers if I needed to look something up on the internet?
Which PDA would you recommend if I were to get the most basic, functional one that I would only use on the wards? As long as there's enough memory to download programs that are commonly used by med students, I'm happy.
For the same purposes, which Palm would you recommend?
Finally, are there PDA functions that you've found useful on the wards that I'm not thinking of?
Thanks!
