PDPM and PDGM Impact

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
PDGM only went into effect a week ago so it's hard to say. I would say the only difference so far is that we have extended the plan of care and front loaded the visits. For example, instead of a frequency of 2week4, I might do a frequency of 2week2, 1week14. Each frequency is 8 visit. The low-utilization is confusing so the number of visits to avoid the LUPA in the first 30 days is different from the last 30 days. PDGM probably affects the home health director more than the clinicians. I predict more telephone visits in the future.

Being a home care coordinator might be one the worst jobs in the world, and PDGM only made it more confusing.

For inpatient setting: We have group therapy now.
We have very flexible schedule now. WE do not have to see patients for the certain number of min a day or a week. If they do not want to be treated, I can just add those minutes to patients who want to be treated or go home earlier - whatever you want. ,
