Hey everyone I wanted to know if anyone has the pearson exams or has access to them?...Maybe we can work something out to split the costs or whatnot....let me know please! I am going to be taking the pcat soon!

Sorry man, I don't think it works like that. You have your own login information at pearson and once you take the tests you cannot retake it, you can only review your answers. It is totally worth it to buy all three in my opinion, it will give you a great grasp on the timing of the test, the type of questions and concepts covered, and test results that are very similar to how people do on the actual test (almost everyone I've heard agrees with this). Good luck!

Thanks...I ended up buy test 3 and 4. I plan on taking them after reviewing all the material first...I am a quite stressed out over this exam since I seem to study but forget EVERYTHING! AGH!🙁

Just practice practice practice! You will eventually get it if you put the time in! I'd take a pearson test (#2 or #3) soon so you can assess your current level and just how much preparation you need. Then maybe about a week before the test take test #4 (hardest test) to prepare you for the hardest it can possibly be. Good luck🙂

Yeah you're right. As far as biology goes I've been reading that a lot of you all said that there were some very specific types of questions such diseases/nutrition on the exam....Do you think all that is covered in the kaplan book? Also I have the collins guide I'm not doing so great on the quantitative tests (collins that is)...does the pcat resemble collins? or is it a lot more difficult?

Yeah I purchased test 3 and 4. I plan on taking test 3 like next week; so hopefully plan to do as much review till then. Then I plan on taking the test to see how I am doing and then like about 2 weeks before the exam ill take test number 4. I've been hearing its tough.

If you retained all of the info on biology from Kaplan then it would definitely put you +90 percentile, but there will probably be one or two questions just not covered probably about diseases/nutrition section. Quant and chem sections on pcat were very similar to Collins guide in my opinion. I think bio was somewhat similar to pcat but more in depth like kaplans detailed information. Verbal and reading comp were more difficult (Collins reading comp section is a joke!).

Eeeh I can't retain all the information like the chapters on animal behavior, ecology, classification and evolution are just way too much specific information...Did you see very many questions on those chapters? Any advice on those chapters?....Okay I can practice retaking the collins chemistry and quantitative tests over and over until I understand the concepts....As I've been hearing -_- the verbal and reading are difficult...definitely nervous for that section.

Animal, ecology, classification, and evolution are not on the pcat anymore I believe, just look at the pcat blueprint on their website and it'll tell you exactly what topics are covered. Study the hell out of the chem and quant sections because if you can get high 90s in two sections then and average scores ( around 70) in the others, youll more likely have a composite in the 90's. Verbal and reading are tough to prepare for, and unless you've been an avid reader of journal articles or similar things its not going to be a walk in the park.

Yeah you're right it isn't on there. I for some reason thought it was but thank God it isn't...I hope so I definitely will be doing, but I am not scoring to high on the chemistry and quantitative exams right nor biology :/ I should just keep retaking them right? Till I get higher scores and understand it completely?

I don't believe that simply retaking the exams will improve your score; You should focus on the material that you're struggling with and refresh accordingly. In my opinion, repeating the same process and expecting different results is not a successful approach.

Thanks you're right. I actually do go back and restudy the parts but I feel like i spend more time on going over all the notes and information (to be safe and have all the formulas down) rather than test taking :/

What's the point of taking tests if you don't know the material? 😕 Taking an exam is an efficient way to see how effective your study habits are.

In my opinion, you should take a practice exam after you've studied to see how well you're retaining and understanding the material instead of taking an exam and only focusing on what you've missed. There are MANY different topics in a subject and by hunting and pecking topics, you're missing the big picture and will likely perform poorly again since you won't study the entire material.
