national rankings are often based on external research funding, technology, reputation as judged by other clinicians, etc. In most cases rankings do not include willingness and ability to teach by staff attendings, resident happiness, diversity of cases, didactics, etc. Dont worry so much about rankings. After residency your patients will not care about the ranking of your residency program, and your success as a pediatrician will depend in most part on you and not the hospital where you trained.
