Is there any literature on what age children are able to tolerate capsules? For example, is it necessarily wrong to give capsules of Amoxicillin to a 7-8 year old versus suspension? Any thoughts?

There is more lit on this as well out there but this isn't an issue in neonatology so I'll let the big kid docs comment further.

BTW, as a former mod, you know that cross-posting threads is a no-no. So, I'm closing this one and anyone who wants to discuss it can find it on the pharm forum via
