Hi future peds!
I'm a pediatrics resident from Italy..next month we will have to take the ABP ITE examination..Our director is very excited about it... you can imagine our excitement!🙄
Besides the 3 examples on the ABP website, is there a book with other examples? or will we just have to read Nelson over and over again? Consider that our guidelines, as well as many other things (antibiotic resistance, ), are different from yours..

Thank you!

Hi there-- Just to clarify-- you are a resident in Italy now, correct? I don't know if you will be taking this exam multiple times like our residents do once a year, but one of the best study aids out there is "Laughing Your Way to Passing the Pediatric Boards" and "First Aid for the Pediatric Boards"--Both succinct, high yield, and focus on what the topics are for the exam. Whether you spend the money on one or both of these depends on what the stakes are for your success on the ITEs-- and of course if you plan to take the actual ABP boards anytime soon.

I am currently a resident in Italy..it sounds like they plan to put us through this torture evry year from now on..it makes absolutely no sense because you use different guidelines and we will be taking the american test, without any modifications..
Thank you very much for your advice..I think I'll buy both!

Threadjacking to get more clarity on the ITE. I did not find this information on the ABP's website.
I am paranoid because I believe that the program I plan to enter places undue emphasis on the scores.
1) How many questions?
2) What is the duration of the test?
3) Is it mostly single response type (similar to the USMLE?)
thanks

^ Per the web site:

The ITE is a 4-hour written exam consisting of approximately 200 multiple-choice questions. The ITE is administered on designated days in July.
