This is a question for anybody who is a resident at, or has interviewed at, or recently accepted to the Pedo programs in Las Vegas and Denver. I am wondering what kind of info you can give me about the programs and their strengths.
I am curious what the Vegas program is like since it is run by the School of Medicine (and only affiliated with the Dental school). Is it a good Pedo program in your opinion.
And for the Denver program, what changes or problems do you forsee when changing to a new location this coming year. Thanks in advance.

The Nevada program is no longer operating. Rumor has it that the UNLV dental school is going to pick it up and run with it in the coming years, but the program didn't accept any applications this year, and I was told that the medical school was discontinuing it. It would make sense for the dental school to pick up, but I haven't heard anything concrete.

This is true. The SDM will likely re-open the program in summer '08 at our facility.

As for the program in Denver moving to the Fitzsimmons campus, I think it will be a good thing. The facility is huge and very impressive however the pedo program will be in an existing building on campus and not actually inside the new hospital (at least as it was told to me). Having said this, I'm sure there will be an adjustment period to the new location and as they will also be adding new faculty members.

Thanks for the replies, I didn't know that Vegas program was shut down for now (I did notice it wasn't on the Pass website this year), and I also didn't know that Colorado's program was in a different building then the Fitzsimmons one that is new. Thanks for the info
