Hey Guys,

This may be elsewhere, but I've spent some time trying to find it without any success, so I decided to start a new thread.

Does anyone have a sense of typical and minimal Board scores for competitive programs in less competitive specialties (namely, pediatrics)? How much do Step 1 scores matter in this field?

Any links to a similar post or thought would be greatly appreciated! We hear so much about Boards and the most competitive specialties, but it's tough to figure out how my score will help or hurt in peds.

Thanks!

In less competitive specialties, especially Peds, I've been told that programs look at the "whole applicant" much more than their Step I score. That said, a score of 220 or higher should place you in a good position in California Peds programs.
