Any thoughts on the Pro's/Con's of doing a Peds Aneshesia fellowship? I enjoyed my peds roations, but is it worth the extra year in today's healthcare environment?
I've been out in practice for a while and looking at this path more closely. Thanks!

would doing the fellowship cause you to experience a pay cut after the year as a fellow?

I'm not sure if a pay cut would occur after fellowship? It was my understanding that may, in fact, be the case, particularly at academic centers, which seems counterintuitive after the extra training. But, I'm okay with that aspect.

I suppose I was just looking for others opinions as to the thought process behind doing a peds fellowship, and what drove them to complete this. I have my reasons, such as enjoy working with kids, but does the added potential stress justify the commitment? Thanks...
