When are the majority of PEM interviews conducted? Early to mid-October? Looking at last year's thread, programs were still sending first rounds of interview invites at the end of September.

When are the majority of PEM interviews conducted? Early to mid-October? Looking at last year's thread, programs were still sending first rounds of interview invites at the end of September.

From what I heard last year, interviews are from mid-September to early November, with the majority probably being somewhere in October. I think most places seem to get their first round of invites sent out in August and then cancellations and wait lists make up most of the movement in September.

I actually spoke to the coordinator today. They're fixing it!

Same boat as you, got an invite but all the days were filled so I signed up for the waitlist. A few days later, my invite was gone!

I am under the impression that the difference is only which department of a school they're housed under, not who they take. In fact, I'd wager more places only take peds applicants than only take EM applicants. I applied to both out of EM and have only run into one place that was PEM (peds) telling me they dont take EM.

Not stupid. I found it confusing also.

I applied to both types of programs at the encouragement of a PEM attending, but did find a couple programs that don't take EM applications.

Anyone applying to Baystate, UPMC, or Vanderbilt? Haven't heard from them. They say they take EM applications, I'm assuming they just don't like my app LoL.

Does anyone find it super weird about yale rescinding invites. The day they sent it out, and the whole glitch happened, I had emailed the coordinator who said ‘you are definitely being invited to interview with us’. And then they sent the rejection. I didn’t follow up that day but if they rescinded so many invites, when all you peeps above are certainly super qualified- I feel like reaching out. I am truly not desperate but I have applied to very few programs and each silence/rejection hurts!

I am was going to withdraw from some places, do you think just withdrawing on thalamus + eras is sufficient or should I still email the coordinator etc? Interviews aren’t for 6 + weeks
