FA says this involves intradermal bullae. Should that read intra-epidermal bullae since it is caused by antibodies to epidermal cell surface?

I have an eleven year old border collie/Norwegian mix with a slow acting but advanced form of pemphigus. His nose is mostly gone, but he is still happy and enjoys life, so I am not yet considering "other" options. I was wondering if anyone has heard of part of the affected body regrowing. My dog is not currently on any treatments, our vet says his age and condition make the possibility for severe side effects too high, so I am really confused by the appearance of Max's nose. The flesh had been eaten away slowly over the years, but recently I have noticed the skin (the black, typical looking skin of border collie noses) reappearing where it was completely gone. I am thrilled by this but completely confused because neither our vet nor I have ever heard of this in pemphigus cases!!!
