Welcome to a residency program where you get the following:
A) PROGRAM DIRECTOR: became a PD straight out of graduating 4 th year.
B) The Medical DIRECTOR: seems like the acting PD or at least he pretends to be. This guy is not welcome in his city due to some issues with his past actions so he drives here all the way to feel some importance. Old graduate so has no clue how today’s residency works.
C) GME: The GME HERE IS Betsy the front desk staff that worked her way up to be a GME director. I know sounds like a joke or something from “SCHITTS creek town” aka “jobs for the boys.” The most arrogant person and treats residents in a demeaning way.
This gets better…
D) The program co- ordinator who can’t set up didactics properly so residents end up doing her job. She needs training in Webex because she cannot set up residency interviews over Webex either. She is probably someone’s relative so if residents complain against her they get taken to HR.
Does it get better you ask….
The DIO: someone who is semi retired and probably graduated residency when penicillin was invented.

In PGY1, they’re attending “supervises” from another state. The attending sees patients within an hour over video and then starts working their regular job at another state and then dumps the residents with all the work without any supervision. 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

The grand rounds are a copy paste of the program director’s neighboring program didactic sessions. What are the residents even learning here?

How does ACGME accredit programs like these? What is the vetting process to accredit these programs?
