The MCAT isn't required to get into the Special Science program. I was admitted with a 3.0 GPA and only GRE scores. It seems like Penn will give you personal attention, since my admission letter had a hand-written note on it that referenced my personal essays. I didn't end up attending at Penn, but my best guess is that you'll receive great administrative support there. However, you'd be taking upper level science courses as opposed to med school classes like you would at an SMP program.
