Penn State "In Continuation" Letter

Hey guys, sadly today I received a letter from Penn State saying that my application will be "in continuation" and would remain active.

Did anyone else get this and does anyone know if this means my chance is very slim now? or if they will be generous to this category?

i am currently very upset at this school. my LORs were sent in a month ago?! how long did it take for penn state to post them? still incomplete there...

I got this too. A few others got this also. It was on another thread. From reading old posts, it doesn't look too good being put on hold. But I did see several who did get interviews later. My friend also got interviewed there in May last application cycle, but didn't get in.

I was just browsing their site again, out of state costs 37,000. God, that is too expensive. So guess I'm not too disappointed anymore.

Mine was updated in a few days... my school used the VirtualEval system fyi... still, did anyone get this letter or if you are currently a student there, is this a bad sign to receive the "In Continuation?"

I don't understand why they charge a higher tuition to out-of-staters when they are listed as a "private institution" in the MSAR. Maybe it has something to do with Penn State undergrad being a State school, but I thought they were separate entities.

Nevermind, just double checked again.

It is $38,768/year for out of state. WTF?! That's crazy.

In state is 27,886

my file has been complete...to the best of my knowledge my LOR has been sent since July and I submitted 2ndary early august.
but still my status page still says that message about LOR not yet updated or something...
how long does it take for them to update their system...should I call???

You should definitely call. My LORs were sent out 8/13, and my file was complete (and my status page updated) Aug 25.

Just to add to the confusion:

I recieved the email telling me that my application was complete 8/18, and my status page still says that they have recieved my application but are waiting to decide if it is complete. 😕
My best guess is that they are just not very good at updating people's status pages.

Mine was like that a week or two after they told me it was complete. Don't worry, it will soon change.

I got a letter from them today too. I got put on the continue to review category. That's 3 holds for me now 🙄

recieved my leter today from penn state...they placed my application on "continue to review" catergory.

i wish all of us interviews soon.
