There's a question on the secondary that asks:

Is there a unique aspect of your application that should be considered by the admissions committee? (Maximum 50 words)

i thought this was a place to explain if you didn't use a committee letter and/or couldn't meet all of their LOR requirements... i kinda figured it was optional, but i tried to submit and it said i needed a response to this.

anyone else run into this? i don't really have any red flags in my app that i could explain here. not sure if i can just answer the question with "no" or if that would hurt me.

i assumed this question was like the: " how are you different that other applicants?" / "how can you add to the diversity of Penn State?" kind of questions...

Yea, I was under the impression that the question was meant for any technical difficulties an applicant may have with their application. I just used that question to further clarify how my university handles letters of recommendation letters; they use a letter service that doesn't exactly fit the options presented on the Penn State instructions.

I agree with wutwinb...I took the question to mean, "what stands out about you compared to other applicants, what do you have to offer that is unique?"

^That's what I wrote about, too...

When in doubt call Amber at the admissions office...as I've said before, she is by far the nicest receptionist (and probably person) in the entire world. She'll do everything she can to help you with any questions, including this one.
