I was wondering if anyone knows ways to do those peptide sequencing questions faster on the mcat. It takes forever given the little amount of time and I don't how to start it. I usually look at the answer choices to figure out if the order of some of the sequences match, but I feel like there's more than one right answer. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I included a sample question below just so you know what I'm talking about. (I got this from Kaplan FL exam 2 in the chem/phys section).
Partial hydrolysis of a heptapepetide yields the fragments Val-Gly-Pro, Pro-Ala-Gly, Ala-Val, and Gly-Gly. What is the primary sequence of the protein.
answer choices:
A) ala-val-gly-pro-ala-gly-gly
B) gly-gly-ala-pro0gly-val-ala
C) ala-val-gly-gly-pro-ala-gly
D) gly-ala-pro-gly-gly-val-ala
