perio/prosth

I know some programs are now offering perio/prosth together as a 5 yr program. I was wondering if anyone is in one of these programs and what they think about it. What do these guys plan to do when they finish? You obviously get great training but where are you getting or plan to get the patients? Who is going to refer to someone that does everything? I'm guessing there are some huge implant prosth cases out there that only someone like this would want to take on, but how do you get these from a gp or pick them up off the street? Just curious any info would be great.

I know Loma Linda has a 4 or 5 year Implant/Prosth program but I'm not very familiar with the specifics because it is not my field of interest. The best contact would be Dr. Lozada.
