i didnt get into chemistry yet but if i need to know it i want to study it now..what do i need to know atomic weight n number..

For the DAT you will need to know the periodic trends (ie: electronegativity, atomic size, ionization energy, etc.)

if I can remember correctly, I believe they provide the Table on the exam. You just have to know the general trends

have you thought of taking a general chemistry class and learning the trends and why they happen?

yeh im going to a cc this semester and then next semester to rutgers university. i just want to be smarter than my classmates and have no problem passing everything.

you're getting ahead of yourself. Memorizing the periodic table probably won't help in either a chem class or the DAT since on tests they usually let you have a table to look at cause the questions require more thought, generally, than just "where is Ar on the table, left side or right?"

If you want to get ahead of the other students, just go to a local bookstore and buy a chemistry study guide book and study that or read ahead in a general chem textbook.
