If my preferred address is here at school and they send all letters here, what happens over Christmas break when I am at my permanent address?

Your letters will still be sent to the preferred address listed unless you forward your mail to your permanent address during the holidays. I wouldn't risk it though, I have had mail get lost when I try and have it forwarded. You have until January 15th to make a decision, so I would plan on coming back around the 8th that way you still have time to make a decision if you have letters while you are gone for Christmas.
