Hello,
I am a permanent resident who got interview at VA brooklyn hospital for GPR program.
First of all, on the PASS website, it says "Do applicants have to be U.S. citizen? - Yes", and also "can it be permanent resident? - Yes," and this is why I applied VA GPR program.
But, during the interview, the director asked my citizenship status, and told me since it is federal hospital, I have to be U.S. citizen to join there. He also mentioned that I am a strong candidate, so willing me to apply for citizenship asap, as there is still time left before the program begins.
I don't quite understand what he means. If I get matched to VA program and does not apply for U.S. citizenship, will they not going to accept me in July? Or, is he even not going to rank me since I am a non-US citizen?
If anyone knows, plz let me know if permanent residents can or cannot join VA GPR.
Many thanks.
