In a lot of waitlist talk, there is advice about being persistant but not annoying. Is there a fine line between the two? For instance, I feel that sending a letter of intent every few weeks would show persistance and interest in the school. But is that too much for a school? Just curious on people's thoughts

LOI is fine as long as the school is willing to accept it. I contacted one school asking if they'd be open to such a thing, and they said "no, we'd throw it away immediately." Honestly, that was a dumb statement for them to make--the lady I spoke with said we'd throw the letter away without opening it...WELL...how would you know what the letter was about without opening it?

Regardless, contact the school saying you're very interested in that school and wanted to find out if it's acceptable to send a letter of intent. And then proceed. Otherwise, if they're not open to it, don't waste your time. Good luck 🙂

I'd say as long as you're being friendly with any contact what-so-ever it'll be considered persistent instead of annoying. How it can cross to annoying is if you keep calling every day and they tell you the same thing without getting anything new said/sent/accomplished. I think LOI are a good thing to send since... how could it possibly hurt you even if they don't read it? It's showing interest and taking the time to actually show them your interest. Good luck :luck:

I agree with this 100% I don't think they would not accept you because you contacted them too much

She probably meant that they wouldn't keep it on your file, take note of it nor would it give you an advantage.

Anyway, I agree with all of you though that an LOI would definitely not hurt you and may help you.
