Long story short, one of my parents is a special education teacher for elementary school kids and I've been friends with many of them throughout my life because of this. Should I talk about how being exposed to kids with learning disabilities, autism, spina bifida, down syndrome, etc has shaped my drive to be a physician at all? It's contributed to it, not a ton, but has played somewhat of a role in me wanting to be a physician. I haven't provided care for them in any way but being exposed to them has definitely made me interested in learning about these conditions/syndromes.

Currently my PS doesn't have a true story in it (more of a common theme throughout it with examples), but I would be able to include a story from being exposed to a few of them in particular I think also.

Thanks!

This experience has not contributed "a ton" to your drive. Why not write about what has contributed "a ton"? What could you speak about passionately in your writing and interview?

Doesn't sound like it would be too strong of a PS if it didn't contribute much to you wanting to be a physician. You could use it for your diversity essays though for secondaries

Thank you both for the advice! Currently my PS includes just the main factors that have contributed to wanting to become a physician so I think I'll stick with it how it is and possibly use this experience for a secondary essay.
