hey how is everybody doing? this is my first post here, and i think this is a great website. i have two questions for whoever can help me out:

1- i took the DAT and did alright, i got a 21 overall but i got a 15 on PAT!! all my other scores are good ( i got 25 on organic and 20 overall on science) and i was wondering if i re-took the DAT, would they combine my highest scores together?? like i was thinking of re-taking the DAT and ONLY doing the PAT part and skipping everything else. would they then combine all my highest scores (as they do on the SAT?) or would u guys recommend i dont even re-take it?

2- how do i get help with my personal statement? i need to start writing it asap, and need some guidance and help in what direction i take. i want to read some sample letters, if anybody could send me theirs 🙂, and know what to address and what to avoid. i would appreciate any links to website, etc.

ok thanks everybody, and take care.

just quickly if anybodys interested, my gpa is 3.6 overall and probably between a 3.3-3.4 science. the breakdown of my DAT scores is:
AA- 21
PAT-15
QR- 18
RC- 23
BIO-19
GC-19
OC-25
TS-21

i'm just hoping i get in somewhere....

seriously, a score of 15 in PAT is low. However, i think that you have more than enough to cover up for that score. all your scores are incredible and with your gpa you shouldn't have any problems.

as far as your statement letter goes, you are totally correct. you need to start ASAP. you could check out multiple sites that give you sample letters. one of them is essayedge.com. they have at least 4 samples.
good luck and again your scores are absolutely awesome and you'll get afew interviews.

Your scores are fine. 15 on PAT could be fine or a little low depending on the school applying to; there has been some discussion about schools that stress PAT.

For you PS, all I suggest is to have as many people read it as possible. The less they know you the better. My school had prehealth advisors which I received alot of help for my PS.

geting interveiws should not be a problem for you, based on your scores. Just don't be stupid by applying to one school.
