Hello everyone,

I am getting started working on my Personal Statement and Resume. I have the following questions, please help:
1. Should Personal Statement be doubled-spaced? - I saw some that didn't double-space.
2. Could you recommend some sources and examples for Personal Statement for Pre-dental? - I have been looking in this forums and have found just one but this is for Pre-med student.
3. What is exactly Resume needed? I have read the AADSAS Guide, they include resume. I'd like to know what it is so that I can get it prepared as soon as possible.
Please input. Thanks

I think you can still create an account to look at the application as long as you do it before Feb 1. I would suggest doing that so you can see exactly what you need.

01: Doesn't matter. You copy and paste it into a box and it loses formatting.
02: I just followed a format for general personal statements (not dental school specific). You can probably do a search on here and find tips.
03: You will fill out sections for volunteer work, jobs, research, etc. You don't upload your actual resume.

I agree with fogorvostan.:
1. It really doesn't matter since it loses it's format when it's uploaded in AADSAS. Also, there is a character limit in the application that must be met.
2. There are sources all around the web, just do a quick google search. Here are a few that are at my finger tips: Personal Statements
3. Your resume includes your repertoire of experiences that makes you a competitive candidate. Outside of your grades, the DAT and applying to dental school, what sets you apart from other applicants? How have you shown your interests in the field? Research? shadowing a dentist(s), volunteer, etc.

Hope this helps.
