Hey guys, I already submitted my application and realized that I forgot to clarify something on my application. I mention how when I shadowed a dentist he explained how UV light can cure certain materials but nowadays dentist dentist don't use UV. However on my statement I just mention how he explained how UV light can cure materials without saying how he told me it is now no longer the case. I'm concerned dental schools will think I'm ignorant and assume I still think UV is used. Should I email the schools clarifying this or am I making a big deal out of nothing?

I can't tell if I'm being paranoid as I had dental students read my statement and none of them commented on this as well

UV is still used. What is he talking about? My guess is nobody commented because they don’t know what he’s talking about. I haven’t seen anyone fill a composite and not use a curing light. I don’t see how it would stay as you didn’t initiate polymerization.

Are you sure? Most curing lights don't actually use UV but blue light.

You’re right. Honestly forgot about it because people are still used to saying, “pass me the UV”.
I know! That's why I originally asked and he explained how in the past they used UV and now they don't! I wonder why they still say that though

You are probably fine. They might not even care about it much.
