Yes, I have gone to the Writing Center at my school but I wanted someone else to look at it as well.

Hello OP,

I was in a similar position last year and wanted to seek the assistance of a professional editing service. Most were very expensive as I'm sure you've also found to be true. I did, however, find Ascensus Medical Admissions Consulting. They're extremely professional and provided great feedback with each revision. And, importantly, they are also very affordable. I believe the PS editing service cost ~$50 (2 revisions) and the supplemental service cost ~$20 per school. High quality service for an extremely affordable price-

If you can find great friends who are good at editing, I'm sure that may suffice. The edits my friends provided were fantastic and I didn't think much more could be done to my statement. Eventually my anxiety prior to submitting my application led me to Ascensus, and their expert consultant edits made me rethink the essay completely. They really treated my statement as though it were their own.

I'm sure others on SDN can attest to their skills and have found success with the process as I have. In any case, I would highly recommend utilizing their services.

I'd agree with the "..treated my statement as though it were their own." If you want people who will over-scrutinze, hyper-criticize, and provide you with 3-4 different ways to change a sentence/paragraph/word choice.. these are your people. At the time I didn't really appreciate it and was slightly annoyed.. but I probably owe much of my success to these experts. Even looking back now, I'm very pleased with my statement, which I can't really say for much of my past writing. The price is unbelievable for the service they provide, but I think its a part of their philosophy to provide an affordable service.

Either way- huge shout out for Ascensus Medical Admissions Consulting- real life changer

Don't listen to the people who say it's not worth it. I needed to same time to study for my DAT next month and my girlfriend had 2-3 subscriptions to essay editing services. Editing services + a good friend who won't be shy to tell it to your face if your essay sucks are important. The friend more so than the services, but in 4 days my PS was golden thanks to both. PM me if you still need a recommendation about the service; i'll ask my girlfriend when she gets off work. But the dental goals website seems neat

Yea he has a point^. It's always better to get your personal statement edited by professionals than random people that can do it for free on SDN. Also, be cautious with your personal statement. If you give your personal statement to a stranger, anyone can steal it (it does happen).
