Hey...

I'm new in town...and I don't know too much about what should I do...so I realy need YOUR help...
I want to apply for advanced standing program and I've already had my NBDE1 exam, which I passed with 90(the old one) and now I'm waiting for Toefl scores...
I don't know much about how should be my personal statement, if somebody could tell my something...anything...
I would like to send my applications to UIC, NYU, COLUMBIA, UPENN AND BU...

Thank you...

I'm in need of the same information. Any help or samples would be useful.

Thanks in advance.

hello,
you can find some samples here http://dmdstudent.com/?cat=11 i was given this site when i asked about the same thing🙂 and there are good examples;
the letter has to be personal, they want to know you more than some scores, it has to be original, to have a catchy , appealing, grabbing introduction so the reader want to continue read..they receive hundreds or even more applications...you have to stand out through something..be personal but not too personal...if you have a low grade try to explain, they want to know if something happen to you or if it was just usual stuff having low grades.....answer their questions, try to personalize for each university you apply..ideally they should be different ones...try to find out more about each university, what they say about themselves, motives and so on...most of the universities ask why you chose them...find something unique about it..
have your letter proof-read by someone with an excelent English..a teacher if you can....
more inform can be found on the internet, you just have to google personal statement letter and you will find more..
and take time....to write and re-write until you're satisfied with your work
best of luck👍

Hey Starrynight

Thank you very much for your replay...I searched on google and I did find some ideas about statement letter...

Also today I receive my Toefl ibt scor adn it isn't very good...only 95...So my others are NBDE1 90 and GPA(ece)= 3.72...I have 3 years of experience back home but here I couldn't get any experience because I'm pregnant and nobody wants to have me...

Do you think that I have any chance? I will start sending applications but I'm very worried, that nobody will answer me...My first choice is UIC...then NYU, UPENN and maybe BU...

hi drsbcd🙂
i think you stand a pretty good chance; uic asks 80 for iBT toefl, and all your scores a very good, nbde, gpa...i know that some US experience would be great, but i hope you'll be ok..we're in the same boat here..
so, go ahead and apply!👍

Thanks Starrynight for your thumbup...

I'm going to apply...see what's happening...maybe I will have a chance..who knows...

Anyway..good luck with your Toefl exam...it is pretty hard to drive 200 miles and than taking the test...

any one knows about what is the good time to apply to NYU?
