I am reapplying and wanted to add a second specialty I always had an interest in. Problem is, I have passes in that specialty rotation and LORs, etc.

How do I write a personal statement which my experience to the specialty just based on interest?

I think you need to try to gain more experience in your new specialty of choice (or additional specialty of choice) for two reasons: 1. to make sure you really like it, and 2. to get more exposure to attendings in the specialty for the purposes of LORs. This will also result in better material for a personal statement.

If you are unable to get more experience and some decent LORs, then I honestly don't think the personal statement is going to make or break you. You could concentrate on what you like about the field and what you could bring to the program. Keep it short.
