Also posted this in the Pre-DO forum but I thought it might get more attention here , hopefully.

I have no idea where to begin. I know it's important to answer "Why do you want to be a physician?" but what else are we supposed to put in it?

That was pretty much the bulk of my personal statement. I also included a bit of my family history to give some context to my experiences and motivations. I would be hesitant to try to answer too many other questions in your personal statement since that might 'dilute' the message you're trying to get across.

As for writing tips, I found the following links to be very helpful when I was trying to brainstorm for mine:

Thank you. I think once I get started it will get easier. Keeping the reader's attention hasn't been a problem, but getting it to begin with has always been the hardest thing for me.
