Personal Statement on ADEA?

So I just registered on ADEA, and went to my application. I went to the "Personal Statement" Section to find a blank page where I can write freely. But there are no questions or anything like that. Just a blank page with a "save" button on the bottom.

Where can I find the questions :S?

Try clicking "instructions for this section" on the upper right hand side. It reads: The personal essay provides an opportunity for you to explain why you desire to pursue dental education.

Are you applying for the 2013 cycle or 2014? If 2014, the application only opens in June. If for the 2013 cycle, it is really late in the process. In either event, this is an example of a lose-lose situation.

I'm applying in the 2014 cycle (so this Summer). If the application opens in june, how do people submit it exactly on the day that it opens? That must mean the questions are already released out there for people to ponder over. Am I missing something? Is the application process completely different from that of undergrad? i.e. CommonApp...if you guys remember this, they gave you specific questions to which you had to answer. where are these QUESTIONS for the dental school application?

The questions are the same year to year so yes people look up the questions and have them pre-filled out and ready to copy and paste once the cycle opens.

There aren't questions. It's an application. Like a job application. This is the primary application. It's localized and uniform for all schools.

Questions come later IF a school asks for them. Those are secondary applications specific to schools. Don't even think about those right now.

I know you're eager and want answers quickly. But you also need to look around the ADEA site. It'll be to your benefit to learn how to fish right now, if you know what I mean. I'm all about helping and don't mean to be rude, but you're looking for some heat with rapid-fire basic application questions.

So if you are having access to 2013 application just look up all the sections under my application. when click on each section there is a rectangular blue button for instructions for that section (top right). for PS it can be found at http://www.adea.org/dental_educatio...eralInstructions/Pages/PersonalStatement.aspx.


I doubt anyone can fillout this long application and finish it the same day it opens ...my recommendation would be take your time and make sure everything you want to let admission committee know is there...because once submitted you cannot edit anything (other than few items)...and although early is better it's not recommended to rush through it.
