Personal Statement Opinion Needed

I am writing my personal statement for pharmacy school. And I was wondering if it was Ok to start out by saying that I initially wanted to be a computer programmer but then after a few sentences transition over to why I choose pharmacy and why I liked it, why I think I can suceed, etc, etc, etc?

I am writing my personal statement for pharmacy school. And I was wondering if it was Ok to start out by saying that I initially wanted to be a computer programmer but then after a few sentences transition over to why I choose pharmacy and why I liked it, why I think I can suceed, etc, etc, etc?

I think it shows maturity and growth so go with it if you can make it work. My PS had a similar set up (I have a bs in micro, worked industry, moved to academics...etc) and I rec'd a lot of positive feedback from the schools where I applied and interviewed at.
