Personal Statement Query

this may sound a little naive, but i really wish to know your thoughts on whether you guys write/wrote a specialty specific personal statement and send the same to all programs or wrote each program a specific personal statement?

on an average, how many PS have you uploaded to ERAS?

One. Its FM specific since that is what I am applying to. I emphasized my interest in rural FM and OB. This worked for me because its true and every program I am applying to fits that description.

I wrote one personal statement and sent it to all the programs.... The only reason I can see for writing more than one is if you're applying to two specialties or also need a preliminary year program.

I have read things on this site about people composing specific personal statements for specific programs or regions of the country. That seems a little over the top to me, but what do I know?😛

I applied to a couple of integrated Research Pathway programs that required you to discuss your reason for wanting to be in the program in your PS. So I made program-specific PS's for those 2 places but otherwise just used the same one for the rest of the programs.
