For my personal statement I am trying to explain how I arrived at wanting to become a doctor (wanted to be a vet at first). I think it sounds good but I also did research for 1.5 years, which really didn't have an affect on my wanting to be a doctor except that now I'm absolutely sure I want to be a clinician and not a researcher, but I don't have room to mention it on my ps. I have it in my work/activities section of my application but I'm worried if I don't mention it in my personal statement adcom members might wonder why. Should I somehow attempt to squeeze my research into my ps or leave it as it is?

If you think your PS sounds good now, leave it as-is. I don't think adcoms are going to give you a hard time. I didn't put my year of research into my PS, because I was busy showing the reader how my experiences in and out of school helped me decide I want a career in medicine not for what I imagine it to me, but for what it is. No worries!

I agree with zipmedic on this one, I think I read somewhere else in this forum that you probably should leave it off your PS. Something about how most adcom won't know what you're talking about if you get into the details of your research and if it's in your activities, they'll definitely see it. I mostly talked about what inspired me to become a doctor anyway. Good luck! 🙂
