I have taken the DAT three times and I was thinking about writing my personal statement about how determined I am about becoming a dentist and how hard I worked to achieve a better score. Do you think this would be a good idea? Thanks for your help.

The question is did you "achieve a better score"?

Um..yea. Why else would I write that?

I think you should not include it in your personal statement... It will most likely leave a negative impression on the reader (it is not something to stress out in such a small essay).

I agree with the above posters. It's probably a bad thing you needed to take it that many times to do well. I think twice is OK but after that I feel like they think of course you should do better. Maybe say it in one sentence if you want to include it to show your commitment but don't let it be the bulk of your essay. Focus on other, more positive aspects of your journey instead. My two cents.

Good luck.
