So I have read a lot about writing personal statements on this forum and I have ended up with two versions of my personal statement. One of them is very research oriented and pretty much looks like my resume. I realized that this isn't what a personal statement is supposed to look like, and rewrote it. The newer version has little to no information about the specifics of my research but just that I did research and what I learned. I replaced my research paragraphs with a deeper introduction of how I became interested in the field of medicine in the first place. This introduction is about 2/5 of my personal statement. Now my question is, does this look bad? Which part is weighed more heavily, "Why me" or "Why medicine"? I feel like it should be Why medicine since your whole application is supposed to say why me? Id appreciate any opinions, advice, comments. Thank you.
