I was considering writing about developing an interest in medicine knowing the impact the doctors had on my life that did my surgery when I had pyloric stenosis at extremely young age. Also was considering mentioning an interest to go into medicine due to the various specialties that exist in the field of medicine. What do you guys think?

We don't need to know what got him to the point where he thought that being a doctor might be a good career for him. We need to know why he wants to be a doctor. In other words, what does he want to be able to do? What difference does he hope to make in the world? His essay should be forward thinking with examples of what he has done, how he has tested his interest in medicine through interactions with patients (not family) and physicians (volunteering, work experience, shadowing).

SDN has an article on writing application essays (link below). In general, I would say that most topics can yield high quality essays. The trick is in the execution.
