Personal Statement Vs. Secondaries

This is more of a curiosity question than anything.

If adcoms can only choose one, would the personal statement or the secondary essay be looked more favorably upon? I'd figure secondaries as it's more school tailored, but I am interested in what others have to say.

and yes, I have used the search button, the most recent post was in '07.
 
How is this in any way relevant to the real world? Adcoms view both. There is no way to tell you
which is more important, not only specific to the school but also the ADCOM.

I would highly recommend that you feel out both if that is where this is headed. If I had to choose between both? I wouldn't bother applying. Because I'm not getting in anywhere.

Secondaries aren't always school-tailored. The personal statement is more of an overall reason of why you want to be a doctor. Secondaries allow schools to ask questions that aren't always included in your personal statement, or questions that go into more detail about you as an applicant.
