Do you guys know if AADSAS cut down the words allowed for the personal statement. Last year, my friend turned in a personal statement that was a little more than 1000 words. This year, it's only 4500 characters, which is only like 700 words. I have a hard time writing my personal statment beause 4500 characters including spaces is freaking too little.

Rumor has it that they have. I can't remember what some of the guests here on SDN said it was, but it was lowered quite a bit.

I had written my PS to about 900 words and had to shave it down quite a bit, to around 745. I had planned to apply the day the app went up so it set me back only three days, but the end benefit was better. Less fluff, and more concise...exactly what they are looking for I believe. With more people applying this year, it makes sense they would want to read less.
