Personal Statement

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
The whole point of a personal statement is to make it about your own inspirations/experiences. It can't, and shouldn't, come from what someone else has read. What do you want to highlight about your app?

I'll jump on the bandwagon and agree with everyone else.

I used as my inspiration the story of my "journey" towards medical school. A here to there sort of thing.

It's your chance to shine, highlite why you want to be a doc, and what you've done to get there.

Just my opinion.

Oh yeah, I also had like 50 drafts, so it was kinda a work in progress. The final draft was nothing like the original.

Just my 0.02 cents. The hardest part of writing a personal statement is figuring out the scope of your essay. You should try to think about where to start and where to end. I spent about a week brainstorming just that. After that, everything fell in place.
