How does the switch from PGY-1 psych to path work? i imagine i need to do the entire 4 yrs of path correct? i would most likely not get credit for the 6 mos of psych and 6 mos of medicine and neuro? correct?

1st step is to change username to "psychtopath." secondly, i would not think you would get any credit considering path does not require an intern/transitional year.

You don't get credit because there is no training overlap. In the past one of your 5 years in path could be clinical, but now the four years are all pathology. For the same reason, you don't get credit in other fields if you do a year of pathology.

just out of curiosity, what's the thinking behind a switch from psych to path? i'm not trying to be rude, and i'm sure you'd get asked such a question on the interview trail because they're about as different as two fields of medicine can be.
