Hi,
I am a PGY 1 and am thankful to have already matched into a PGY 2 position in a different field. However, after a radiology elective, I am now realizing radiology is the best field for me. I did think of radiology in med school, but due to time constraints, I never actually took the rotation.
If anyone has any advice or experience with how to go about this process, I would much appreciate it. It is not an easy thing to think of, financially speaking, as well as disrupting my future program. But if it truly something that I enjoy and would be happy doing, perhaps it is worth the risk.
Just wondering where one would start and if there is a possibility of finding a PGY2 (R1) spot? Or, maybe I would have to apply this year through the match, and wait out a year.
Thanks!
