Description:
We are a new program whose inaugural resident class of ten PGY-1s started on July 1, 2019. We are under the sponsorship of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Our Department of Medicine is committed to providing the best possible education for our residents while delivering the highest quality of care for our patients. We are committed to resident wellness, and to the degree possible we will strive to meet the personal as well as the educational needs of our residents.
Our facility is a large, modern, suburban “full service” hospital with a wide array of subspecialists and excellent tertiary services in every aspect of medicine, including pediatrics, ob/gyn, and behavioral health, in addition to the core medicine and surgery units. We are in the midst of a half-billion-dollar expansion project creating new cardiothoracic operating suites, a new 40 bed ICU, a new Emergency Department capable of 80,000 visits / year, plus much more.
Next Steps:
We will consider applications from PGY-2 residents in good standing with their programs who wish to transfer to our program. We will require a letter from your current Program Director stating that you are in good standing. We will also require your end of PGY-1 Milestone evaluations.
Please contact our program coordinator Ms. Mildred Fernandez with questions or to start the application process.
