yep. that thing you should be looking for is known as a pda.

thanx for the pda advice. that, of course, goes without saying. But.........we can't use a pda for step 1 or for final exams, and I'm wondering if you guys just memorize EVERYTHING or somehow figure out what is important to know cold, and what is not. I don't know. It just seems like so much memorization.😕

I learned pharm (barely) by making flashcards of every drug with everything I needed to know about it on the card. Then, I reviewed them ad nauseum. I found this a helpful way to learn the material, even though I'm usually not a flashcard person. Also, making tables of each drug class is helpful when you wanna compare and contrast similar drugs (since you end up with so many flashcards, it's hard to search for the individual ones that you want).

Unfortunately, there's no easy way to do it, but if you put in enough time, you'll suprize yourself w/ how much you know. Now, I rely a lot on ePocrates. 😛

GOOD LUCK!

(BTW, the only drugs I had on Step 1 were adrenergic and cholinergic ones.)

Hello,
Seems like most people recommend a PDA for pharmacology. In Denmark we use a little pocketbook with a description of all drugs. PDA's are being more and more popular though. How do doctors and students do it (or used to do before PDA's) in the US?
