Pharmacy Tech Certification?

Ive thought about quitting my job and becoming a pharmacy tech while I take my pre-pharmacy classes. I figure this way I'll know what I'm getting into and if it's really what I want to pursue.

Onto the question...Are there any online training programs/websites that you would recommend? Or would you even take classes at all? I've got 15 credits already, so Im looking for something that I can pretty much do at my own pace. Ive got a job and I have a lot of classes left to take...so it's not like this needs to be done ASAP. Just curious, thanks for your time 😉

I would suggest keeping your job and working part time in a pharmacy. Although I don't know what your current hourly wage is, I'm pretty sure you might be making more than $10/hr you'd be making as a tech (These vary depending on many different factors). Additionally, I would suggest that you expose yourself to many of the different choices available to Pharmacists post graduation such as Hospital, Nuclear, and Oncology pharmacy. Working as a tech in a retail pharmacy doesn't really expose you to the clinical side of pharmacy that you learn about in school.
