Maybe this is a strange question...but what do you think medical school adcoms would think about applicants with experience as pharmacy technicians?

Does anybody know any one who has applied with any...been accepted...???

I don't think its bad to mention it. A pharm tech actually has to show a lot of commitment and knowledge to get to that position (although I understand some pharmacies can grant that position to those who have worked for over 1000 hours, therefore not having to take the exam). I think you probably gained good knowledge about drugs and patient interactions from the position, so definitely include it. It also shows you explore other career paths and decided that medicine is right for you.

I do know of pharmacists who became physicians, not pharm techs who became MD's. so i can't add much there.

I know a few pharm techs that got into med school. They worked as pharm techs while they were in undergrad.

I worked as a pharm tech and did list it.

its just another EC. why wouldnt med school like it?

They better like it, because that's what I am and I plan to emphasize my experience in pharmacy as one of the reasons I'm deciding on medicine.

I worked as a pharm tech because I needed a job and wanted to do something remotely related to medicine. I never considered going into pharmacy. I put the experience on my application, just like other jobs/ECs.
