I am studying for PTCB exam right now using comprehensive exam review by Jahangir Moini

Anyways, i noticed that there are a lot of diseases they described and a lot of human anatomy and hormones, whatever

I know i have to get familiar with laws and organization

do i need to memorize all the diseases and know the anatomy part well?

Any advises for efficient studying please? or tips?

Thanks!

Study the diseases in a sense where medications would be a part of it. Like I had one question (and this was 5 yrs ago) that was similar to this:
What drug doesn't belong:
atenolol
sertraline
metoprolol
amlodipine
lisinopril

like you need to know that all medications are used for hypertension except sertraline. that's for depression. so in that capacity know your diagnosis.

i remember a lot of my questions were iv hood questions, law, and calculating doses. just make sure that you know 2.2kg=1lb because that helps on a lot of the questions as well as 30ml = 1oz

Brush up on what grains are equal to. I had this question and NEVER had I heard of a grain before. I believe it is equal to like 64 or 65 somewhat mg. The only time I have seen this in the pharmacy is either a really old "druggist" or in the manufacture Armor Thyroid medications which are measured in both mg and 1/2, 1 half, and etc grains.

yep yep 65mg = 1 grain lol I remember that. The only time I saw this was a compound and the armour thyroid

You don't have to know any diseases or anything like that. I just took the exam a couple days ago and it was mostly calculations and drug classifications.

Just keep in mind that every test is different and there most likely will be stuff on it that you've never seen. Some questions are not weighed at all. They just put them on there to see if it should be a question in the future. It's good to know a wide variety of information. Unless you work in a hospital the questions that will most likely trip you up are the ones regarding the Laminar flow hoods.
