Hello, I'm getting my application ready to send to the CA state board to get my pharm tech license. couple questions: 1) they ask for a certified copy of my high school transcript. I was gonna get the transcript, then copy it and take it to a notary public to get it certified, but my hs offers an "official transcript" (sealed and embossed) as well as an "unofficial transcript" (photocopy). If I go with the 1st option, do I still have to see a notary public?

2). I also need a certified true copy of my PTCB certificate. Do I just take the original and a copy I made to the notary public or do I need to photocopy it in their presence?

Thank you so much. I've never done this before.

I just did the "official transcript." Mine is still being processed,so hopefully that doesn't screw me over. For #2 you just copy it yourself and bring it in (I brought in both the original as well as copy), you have to read an oath stating that it is a true copy, and that is it. You don't need to photocopy it in their presence though. Then you get to wait for upwards of 60 days! 😀

I submitted my paperwork to the CA BOP in mid Oct and finally received the paper certificate in the mail last week. As your 60 days come up, you can search for your name on the CA BOP website to see if it was approved. From there, it just takes around 2 weeks for the paperwork to come back in the mail.

Just as an update: I got my license recently, so I guess the official transcript was in fact okay.
