Pharmacy Technician Online

Just curious if there is an online course for becoming a pharmacy technician. I will be going to school in the fall, so online would be the most convenient way for me to get pharm tech. I've been looking and from what I can gather is some of the courses needed to get it are online, but I don't think it can be done entirely online... I live in Ontario, Canada. Any info would be appreciated.

I'm currently taking an online Pharmacy Tech program through Penn Foster!

Indeed. Jeez, you don't have to take a class (I did, but only because I didn't realize I didn't have to), just study and take the exam...

So all I need is buy a book, study and go take the PTCE? Is it a national certificate? Because I remember when I applied to Rite Aid couple months ago, the pharmacist asked me if I had a national certificate or the state license? I thought there is only one. lol

Hold on is it PTCE or PTCB or the two are just the same ?

The PTCB administers the PTCE and is the certifying Board / Agency.

National certification is passing the PTCE, then the license is obtained through your state's BoP.

anyone know how it works in canada? from what i can tell you have to take it at a college and can't just write the test
