Hi all,

I plan to take the pharmacy tech certificate next year, but I don't know what book will help. There are so many to choose. So I'm wondering if there is any recommendation/experience on what material to study for? 🙂

oh, one more off topic question. Does anyone here put "student doctor network" as an extra activity on your application? hehe It sounds kinda weird for me, but I remember reading somewhere in these forums that we can... just making sure.

Thanks a lot for your help 🙂

There are several books that can help you study for the pharmacy tech certificate. Just go to Barnes and Noble or Amazon or even Ebay.

I listed SDN as an extra curricular activity because I feel that I have gained so much knowledge about the pharmacy profession from this forum that makes me even more sure about my choice to apply to pharmacy school. However, I also get information from other sources as well to verify what is said on these forums. I am proud of my addiction to SDN! 😍

👍 Hi, you may want to consider this manual, I am using it right now in preparation for the Nov 19th, 2005 exam. I really enjoy it and am finding it very valuable.

It has been recommended by many here at SDN...

Here is the hyperlink to the manuals....

Good luck!

are you guys serious? is being part of an online forum a valid EC?

Well, if people are listing SDN as an extracurricular- does that mean admissions committees are fully aware of this site... and do you think they read the forums?
By the way, I recently wrote some details in a thread here about an interview I had last week. I don't know if something like that could pi$$ off the adcom at a school- what do you think? I mean, maybe I was giving a little too much information to people who will interview in the future. Then again, there IS an interview feedback page setup... but those are anonymous and I kind of had a picture of me and my boyfriend as an avatar.
Considering i know of people on this site who have been accepted to the particular school and I have yet to hear I am getting slightly paranoid that I have stepped on some toes. 😱 :scared:

I was referred to this website by an adcom committee person from a pharmacy school and I know of several faculty members at various medical, pharmacy and dental schools that post on SDN. Adcom committees know that people discuss and share their experiences with others regarding the interview process. 🙂

Whether it is "valid" EC or not I have used it to show that I am interested in the pharmacy field (it just so happens that I put it under the EC section along with all of my othe EC's). There are pre-pharmacy students, pharmacy students, practicing pharmacists all on this forum relating to one another and helping one another out when possible. I have benefited immensely by reading about other peoples experiences. 🙂

I just discovered this site a week or two ago, but it has already been a great resource. I love the opportunity to get advice from tons of people who are or have been in my shoes. I can definitely see where it could be considered a valid EC. The only problem is I wish I had found it a long time ago 🙂 Speaking of that...how did you guys here about this forum? I just stumbled across it online. I wish it had been advertised at my school or that there was some good way to let the people who are just beginning to consider pharmacy know that this forum is available to them. Any ideas?

I got to this site when I was googling s.th 'bout pcat one time. This is one of my most favorite forums too. All the ppl here are so nice 🙂
Thanks dpari for the link and everyone for the advices. I think I'll put SDN as an activity.
