  1. Pre-Pharmacy
What would you say is harder? Keeping a high GPA in pre pharmacy or getting through pharmacy school?

I know pharmacy school is harder but do you find yourself studying harder than you did in some upper level pre pharm classes?

Hard to say. My GPA dropped from a 4.0 pharm prereqs to 3.6 at the end of pharmschool, but that was countered by the fact that I didn't have as much desire to maintain a 4.0 simply because I didn't have to. The biggest difference between the two is that prepharm dealt with mainly right or wrong answers...pharmschool deals with a lot of shades of right or wrong and choosing the right answer out of 3 possible correct ones is a lot more difficult.

I had a 3.4 in undergrad (3.0ish science GPA), and I'm struggling to maintain a 3.1 in pharmacy school. Things are boding well for me! I just don't have the strength to study as much as my fellow classmates. I still say pharmacy school is harder, but prepharmacy was far more stressful because at least I know now that my future is secure.

Definitely! I feel the same way. It's nice not to have that "am I going to get in" question looming over your head.

Prepharm was a LOT harder for me. ( granted i have only done one year of pharmacy school thus far). i got 4.0s both semesters of pharm school, and went out a lot more, skipped classes, and studied a/b the same as i did in prepharm.

However, i dont know if it is maybe just because i got usedto/ got better at studying by my 3rd year of school.

prepharm was not THAT stressful for me, but I was then doing dual major and sustaining an organization and contributing to the school newspaper, and it took toll. I found myself to be much relaxed in pharmacy and the downfall in GPA is there to prove it.

my grades have stayed at a consistent 3.6-3.7 through pre-pharm to pharm 🙁

To me, getting through pharmacy school is harder than pre-pharm. I study a lot more now in pharmacy school than pre-pharm. Then again, it really depends on you!
